Choosing the path of mercy, Dhul-Qarnayn addressed the people, saying, "Whoever commits injustice and wickedness, we will punish him, and then he will be returned to his Lord, who will punish him with a severe torment. But whoever believes and does good deeds will receive a better reward, and we will speak kindly to him."

Under Dhul-Qarnayn's rule, the people were given a chance to reform, to abandon their sinful ways, and to embrace a life of justice and piety. Through his wisdom and compassion, the western region flourished, guided by the principles of fairness and devotion to Allah.

After establishing justice in the west, Dhul-Qarnayn continued his journey, this time heading east. He traveled until he reached a land where the sun rose over a people who had no shelter against its scorching rays. These inhabitants lived a primitive life, exposed to the harsh elements without the benefit of clothing or buildings to protect them from the blazing sun.

Seeing their plight, Dhul-Qarnayn could have imposed his rule upon them. Yet, he recognized that their way of life was different from what he had seen before. Instead of dictating changes, he left them in peace, understanding that Allah had placed them in this unique environment for a purpose. He moved on, knowing that not every place needed his intervention; sometimes, respecting the natural way of life was the greatest act of wisdom.

Dhul-Qarnayn’s final and most significant journey took him northward, where he reached a land between two great mountains. In this valley lived a people who spoke a language unknown to him and his men. These people, fearing the invasion of Gog and Magog (Yajuj and Majuj)—a barbaric tribe known for their destructive ways—approached Dhul-Qarnayn with a plea.

"O Dhul-Qarnayn," they said, "Gog and Magog are ravaging our land and bringing ruin to our homes. Will you help us build a barrier between us and them? We will give you tribute as a reward for your protection."

Dhul-Qarnayn, however, declined their offer of wealth. "The power my Lord has given me is far greater than any tribute you can offer," he replied. "But assist me with your manpower, and I will construct a strong barrier between you and them."

The people, filled with hope and determination, agreed. Dhul-Qarnayn instructed them to bring forth blocks of iron. They gathered enormous slabs and placed them between the two mountains, stacking them high until the gap was filled. Dhul-Qarnayn then ordered them to blow bellows, heating the iron until it glowed with a fiery red. He poured molten copper over the iron blocks, sealing the barrier and creating an impenetrable wall.

When the wall was completed, Dhul-Qarnayn stood before the people, observing the structure that now towered between them and their enemies. The wall was a remarkable feat of engineering, solid and immovable. "This is a mercy from my Lord," Dhul-Qarnayn proclaimed. "But when the promise of my Lord comes, He will level it to the ground. The promise of my Lord is always true."

With the barrier built, the people were finally safe from the attacks of Gog and Magog. Dhul-Qarnayn’s act of kindness, humility, and justice left a lasting impact on the region. He did not seek fame or fortune but instead worked for the sake of Allah, ensuring the safety and well-being of the oppressed.
